For as big of a rivalry as this game is -- and this will be the biggest crowd to watch a game in Salinas this year -- it's been somewhat one-sided since the two teams started playing each other in 1994.
Salinas has beaten Palma just once over the last 17 years, that coming in 2002 when it posted a 24-13 win at the Salinas Sports Complex to win the old TCAL title.
The Cowboys haven't been within 14 points of Palma in seven of their last eight meetings, falling 37-21 last year.

High school football is a revenue sport that helps cover the budgets of non-revenue sports. Splitting the revenue every other year (from using The Pit) would not begin to make up the difference between 5,000 and 3,500 (gate, parking, concessions, novelties, etc.)
