Monterey Peninsula College (1-4) at Gavilan (1-4), Saturday, 5 p.m.
Are there changes in store for the Lobos as they open the Coast Conference season.
Former Seaside quarterback turned MPC receiver Ronald Saxton took snaps behind center in practice this week.
Saxton threw for nearly 2,700 yards and 31 touchdowns during his senior year at Seaside, with just four picks in 285 attempts.
The sophomore is also a threat with his legs. In five games as a receiver this fall for the Lobos, he has 17 catches for 199 yards.
While the defending conference co-champion Lobos struggled in non-conference, so did the rest of the Coast Conference. Four of the five teams went 1-4.
