So, you still think it wasn't a game worth hyping up?
I think Monte Vista quieted its skeptics in a 12-7 loss to Seaside in a battle of 5-0 teams.
Remember, this is the same Seaside squad that knocked Soquel from the unbeaten ranks and ended Palma's 10-year run of dominance in the county.
All I heard is who has Monte Vista played? A fair question.
But Monte Vista proved its 5-0 start wasn't a fluke. Erase that turnover late in the fourth quarter and it wins this game.
The beauty of all this is these teams have a chance to meet again in the CCS Division IV playoffs.

I personally just think Seaside is overrated on offense. I have seen them play 2 times now and I have yet to be really impressed. Right now they are getting away with having more athletes running around then the teams they play. The Oline has looked terrible in both games i have seen Mike Turner has had pressure on him on almost every play. I think the defense is under rated though. The LB core for seaside is pretty good. They all play physical defense and thats what seaside likes.
You say that MVC proved they were a legit team but how they were averaging what 50+ points a game and then they score 7. Did they even have over 100 yards of total offense? Everyone was expecting a shoot out but I think all we got was two offenses that are overrated. I was impressed with MVC defense they loss becuz of big plays. Seaside relies too much on big plays. The game against Monterey could be a good one same with Alisal.
