Salinas and Palma will get all the attention because it's two natural rivals meeting up for what could decide the MBL's Gabilan Division.
But we're also talking about a 4-3 Salinas squad and a 5-2 Palma program.
No disrespect intended here.
But I believe Alisal invading Seaside on Friday is the bigger battle.
Here's why.
Seaside is the No. 1 ranked team in the area, the No. 5 ranked team in Division III in Northern California, the only undefeated team left in our area at 7-0.
And it beat Palma.
Alisal is 6-1, with its only setback coming from Aptos, which has won six straight games since falling to 7-1 Oakdale.
And both are undefeated in the MBL's Pacific Division. Don't sleep on the Trojans.
