Stevenson (2-0) at Soledad (1-2), Friday, 7:30 p.m.
I wouldn't say I'm surprised by the Pirates 2-0 start as much as how lopsided both of their wins have been.
It's more than just the color change in helmets.
Stevenson is fundamentally strong, having turned the ball over just once while posting a plus-six in turnover ratio.
After producing just one touchdown in its first eight quarters, Soledad erupted for 34 points behind a school record 309 yard rushing effort from Jeremiah Murrillo.
Soledad, who came out throwing in its season opener, has gone back to a more conventional ground game.
A couple of notes of interests. Stevenson hasn't played a Friday game this year while Soledad's only win came at home.
