Salinas (1-1) at Terra Nova (1-2), Friday, 7:30 p.m.
I don't know if the bye week came at a good time for Salinas. Instead of stewing over a loss for one week, it's had to think about it for two weeks.
Remember, the Cowboys spotted Homestead 15 points before realizing what they did the week before in erupting for 59 points didn't matter.
Terra Nova is a gauge for Salinas. Don't be mislead by its 1-2 record. Those losses were to Scared Heart Cathedral and St. Ignatius, who played for the CCS Division III title last year.
The Tigers first win came against Pioneer, who fell in the CCS Division II title game, and gave San Benito all it could handle two weeks ago before falling 24-21.
Quarterback K'ren Spain has thrown for nearly 600 yards and rushed for 298 for Terra Nova while Jaylen Jones has 17 catches for 222 yards.
The pass defense has been a concern for Salinas.
Terra Nova has won the last three Peninsula Athletic League titles.
