Hartnell (2-2) at Laney (0-3), Friday, 7 p.m.
In a rare Friday night battle, the Panthers are riding a two-game winning streak.
The teams have a common opponent in Modesto, who beat Hartnell 41-20 and Laney 40-27.
Laney has been outscored 43-0 in the third quarter.
Laney tailback Tony Parnell rushed for over 100 yards last week against Modesto, averaging over seven yards a crack.
DeAndre Mann is coming off a 201 yard rushing effort for the Panthers, having touched the ball on 37 of the teams 57 offensive plays.
One reason for Hartnell's turnaround can be traced to the defense. After creating just three turnovers in their first two games, the Panthers have forced 10 in the last two.
