I remember David Fales being criticized when he gave up his football scholarship at the University of Nevada after a redshirt freshman season, and enrolled at Monterey Peninsula College.
It was never about whether Fales could be a quarterback at the Division I level.
Instead, it was about the Palma High graduate being in the right system.
MPC fit that description. Plus it gave Fales two more years to grow.
Now Fales if lighting it up at San Jose State. In three games, he has thrown for 863 yards, with one interception in 101 attempts.
The Spartans are 2-1, with the one loss being a 20-17 setback to nationally ranked Stanford.
I'd say he made the right decision.

anyone who criticized fales for leaving UNR is a fool.. He should have never committed to them in the first place it was never the right fit for him...Coming back to MPC gave him time to develop physically. He has always had the mental part of the game..being able to work with rassmussen was an extra plus as well..Going to SJSU wasnt necessarily a perfect fit but they have a great offense scheme that allows them to utilize fales arm and accuracy and back up QB Blake Jurichs(attend scotts valley)running ability...I think they can compete for the WAC title..And next year they should be pretty good they will return just about all of their WRs and Fales
