The former North Salinas High three-sport standout is coming to Candlestick Park tonight as a member of the Detroit Lions.
Osgood, a former two-time special teams all-pro, faced the 49ers in the preseason for seven years as a member of the San Diego Chargers, but just once in the regular season.
The last two former local players to come into the Stick as opponents haven't fared well.
All Pro guard Carl Nicks - North Salinas and Hartnell College - was on the wrong end of the Saints 36-32 loss to the 49ers in the playoffs last season.
And Tampa linebacker Mason Foster - Seaside High - was part of the 48-3 trashing San Francisco put on the Buccaneers.
Osgood is 1-0 as an opponent at Candlestick in the regular season.
