If a No. 16 seed can knock off a No. 1 seed, why can't No. 15 seed Soledad keep its season alive today against No. 2 seed and Santa Cruz Coast Athletic League champion Aptos?
To a degree, the Aztecs have been in a playoff mode for two weeks, closing the season with six straight wins.
Six of Soledad's eight losses this year were by one run.
That's how close it is to being 24-2.
Ivan Sanchez and UOP bound A.J. Banuelos are 1-2 in nearly every offensive category for Soledad. Banuelos has three bombs this year. Eddie Farfan has caught fire at the plate of late.
