No player donated more time during
Hurricane Katrina than Carmel resident and Browns linebacker Scott Fujita when
he played for the Saints.
But I can't make excuses for his
alleged role in Bounty Gate. The linebacker's suspension without pay for the first three games of the NFL season is justified, even though he hasn't played for the Saints in two years.
I think the main reason the commissioner came down on Fujita is because of his role as an NFL Player Representative.
Fujita was adamant and outspoken about player’s safety during the NFL lockout.
Yet, two years earlier he was putting money in a pot for big hits while playing for the Saints.
Perhaps there's a reason Fujita left the Saints after their Super Bowl year.
