Rankings

Rankings are based on what's current, not what happened a month ago.
Pacific Grove is ranked No. 2 behind San Benito in The Blogs Top 10 for baseball because it crushed Scared Heart Prep, who knocked off Palma two days earlier.
I don't want to here how Palma played its worst game of the year that day, as some have suggested. It doesn't matter. You got beat and your season is over.
Pacific Grove is ranked ahead of Carmel because it beat them on Tuesday on a bigger stage. The 14-4 loss a month ago doesn't matter today.
When a No. 1 ranked team in college football, basketball or baseball gets upset, we don't keep them No. 1 because we still believe they're the best team.

When you lose to a #16 seed you don't deserve to be complaining about anything. Should Palma have thrown it's ace? Maybe (ask Stevenson). Did PG face the SHP ace - no. So what. Excuses excuses.

Good luck to PG and bring the title home to Mo. county.

Sign of a great team is how they play as the games get bigger? How to they play as a TEAM when the best pitcher is in the dugout? How do they improve over the course of the season? Season and league championships are the midterms. So far everyone failed the final but Hollister and PG.
