The Breakers can expect to see Menlo's Freddy Avis on the bump in Saturday's title game. His fastball has been clocked in the mid 90's, having compiled a 1.88 earned run average.
Avis is also the West Bay Athletic League champions leading hitter at .467 with six home runs. Jake Batchelder is hitting .436 for Menlo (21-7).
Pitching has carried the Knights through the playoffs. Batchelder and Avis combined on a no-hitter in their postseason opener, and combined on a five-hitter in a win over Monte Vista Christian
No. 3 starter Austin Marcus fired a one-hitter with 13 strikeouts against San Lorenzo Valley in the quarterfinals.
