MTAL-CAL

I can't see a Coastal Athletic League baseball or softball team ever making the CCS playoffs under the current format.
 Because there is no chance a CAL champion can beat the third place team from the Mission Trail Athletic League for the automatic playoff spot.
 Is it fair?
 Depends on if you really want the best teams in the playoffs?
 I know I do.
 But if you're going to do that to the CAL, you have got to adopt a similar plan for the rest of the smaller schools in the section.
 Nothing worse than watching a school up north that no one has heard off, capture a league title, then get run 22-0 in three innings in a playoff game.
