A new coach means a different direction for Seaside.
Four years removed from a school record 17 win season and a playoff spot in 2008, the Spartans have not won more than nine games in a season since.
To complicate matters this spring, Seaside is breaking in a new pitcher and catcher for first year coach Sam Garcia.
Still Seaside has some power in the heart of the order with sisters Marlena and Whitney Rose. What was encouraging for Garcia was the turnout.
