Why will two of the oldest track and field invitationals in the state -- roughly 80 miles apart, be going on at the same time on Saturday, battling for the same athletes from the southern section of the CCS?
Why couldn't Gilroy and King City work together to make sure their meets weren't held simultaneously?
All this does is dilute the competition of both meets.
Ultimately, King City suffers the most since schools are less inclined to travel as far with budget restraints.
