MTAL projected baseball finishes

Mission Trail Athletic League
1. Carmel:
Six starters are back from last springs title team, including MTAL Player of the Year Devin Pearson, and Virginia Tech bound pitcher Tyler Knight.
2. Stevenson: Four players have been starting since their freshmen years. Among them are first baseman Nick Halamadaris and pitcher Tucker Forbes.
3. Soledad: Ivan Sanchez might be the best pure hitter in the area. People need to stop expecting A.J. Banuelos to duplicate the 13-1 record he posted on the mound as a sophomore
4. King City: Nick Sinclair has a live arm on the mound for the Mustangs. Matthew Flores has started for three years and Tyler Salcido was an all-leaguer last year.
5. Pacific Grove: A youthful squad went 6-1 down the stretch in league play last season. Junior Kyle Czaplak begins his third season as the teams starting shortstop.
6. Greenfield: Don't sleep on the Bruins, who lost 10 games by two runs or less last year. Greenfield is off to a 3-0 start this spring.
7. Gonzales: Three coaches in three years doesn't build a lot of stability. Perhaps a season in the Coastal Athletic League would benefit this program.
