It took one meet for Jessica Davis to set a personal best in the high jump and take over the Central Coast Section lead.
A CCS track and field finalist last year in the high jump and 100 hurdles, the King City junior leaped 5-feet-4 in the high jump. Her career best was 5-2.
Davis has had less than two weeks of practice, having spent the winter earning all-league honors as a basketball player.
