CSUMB water polo

Five of the Otters (10-9) nine losses this year have come from Division I programs - make that nationally ranked Division I programs.
The Otters have faced No. 2 Cal, No. 11 Loyola-Marymont; No. 14 Cal State Northridge; No. 17 UC Santa Barbara and No. 20 Cal State Bakersfield.
 CSUMB head coach Gary Figueroa, a 1984 Olympic silver medalist in water polo, commands that kind of respect. Plus the Otters have held their own, losing two of those games by two goals or less.
