The sophomore has found a spot in the starting lineup for St. Mary's --- as a catcher?
Torrise, a four-year starting shortstop at Santa Catalina, spent last season platooning between third base and shortstop for St. Mary's, making a handful of starts, while hitting just .150.
This spring she has started all 14 games, hitting .390 for the Gaels with two home runs. She is second on the team in hits and slugging percentage.
