Seaside's Jonathon Tuiolosega and Carmel's Kodiak Sauer head a list of eight county wrestlers that are making plans for the state wrestling championships.
Tuiolosega is going back to the state meet in the heavyweight division after defeating Palma's Hidelv Manzur in the CCS finals 3-2 in two OT's. The top three advance to the state championships.
Sauer was a section champion at 182 pounds, beating Palma's Ryan Sarmiento 4-2 in the final. Sauer pinned two of his five opponents.
Palma is sending three individuals to the state meet after Hunter Rehbein finished second to Jimmie Lopez of Christopher at 106 pounds.
Alisal has a pair headed to Bakersfield after Jovan Villalobos was second at 152 pounds and Oscar Mendez placed third at 160 pounds. King City's Luis Quintero finished second at 145 pounds.
Alternates to the state meet include Gonzales' Alfredo Salas (113), Palma's Tyler Escoto (220) and Mike Heraz of Soledad (160).
