How ironic is this?
Carmel battled Monte Vista and Palma in the CCS Division IV football playoffs.
Now the MTAL champion Padres basketball team will have to do the same thing as it will host Monte Vista on Thursday for the right to face Palma in the Division IV quarterfinals on Saturday.

. . . and the result will likely be the same. If Carmel gets past MVC (alot easier in Football than Basketball) it will face a Palma squad that is clearly more talented and has faced a higher level of competition week in and week out during the season.
When will Carmel move up to the MBL? I know the Padres like it in the MTAL so they can dominate - but comparing Carmel with schools like Soledad, KC, Gonzales, etc. is like apples and oranges.
