While it's not last year's record setting 16-0 start, the Otters are off to a 7-1 overall mark going into the 11-day Christmas break.
 The defending California Collegiate Athletic Association champions have benefited from playing their first eight games at home -- jumping out to a 4-0 conference start.
 But the next five games are road trips, including a stop at UC San Diego. Two of their four losses last year came from the Tritons.
