It appears that Xavier Nady could be playing for his seventh major league team next year after he became a free agent following one season with the Diamondbacks.
The Salinas High product missed the final two months of the season with a broken hand.
Nady, who has played for the Padres, Mets, Pirates, Yankees, Cubs and Diamondbacks, is more suited for the American League as a designated hitter after two Tommy John surgeries on his throwing shoulder.
Nady, 32, hit well in a half-season with the Yankees in 2008.
I still think the Twins would be a good fit. If he wants to remain on the West Coast, the Mariners and A's need offensive help.
