Did the equity league meeting and its proposed changes earlier in the week become a distraction for Monterey?
It sure seemed like it during a lopsided loss to Sacred Heart Cathedral.
Monterey was one of two teams in the playoffs that was told it could be moving up into the MBL's 'A' division next fall.
Clearly it's not where the program wants to end up.
I don't see how it couldn't have had an effect on the players. It's all that's been talked about.
Then again Christopher had little trouble in posting a 51-0 win over Del Mar in its first ever playoff game.
