The Palma High product has been nominated for the Burlsworth Trophy, awarded to the most outstanding player that began his collegiate football career as a walk on.
A red shirt junior kicker at the University of Arizona, Bonano took over the place kicking duties midway through the season to go along with his kickoff duties.
Bonano is 7-of-10 in field goals and 18-of-18 in extra points this year. He is tied for 10th in the nation in touchbacks with 21. He was awarded a scholarship this fall.
