Carmel football

If I had one concern for Carmel heading into Saturday's CCS Division IV title game with Palma, it's can it contain the Chieftains ground game.
In three non-league games, the Padres gave up 868 rushing yards to three teams that predominately run the football, including 341 to Salinas.
The Cowboys Raymond Cerda ran for 259 yards on his own back on Sept. 24.
I bring his name up because Cerda reminds me a little of Palma's Jack Meyers -- a strong inside the tackles runner with a burst in the open field.
Palma has rushed for nearly 3,000 yards this year.
Carmel's first two playoff opponents were passing offenses that averaged 3.3 yards running the ball.
