Transfer rules

If you are forced to leave a school because of discipline reasons, the athlete is subject to a 12-month suspension from all high school sports, according the California Interscholastic Federation rule book.
Packing up and moving out of the district does not change the rule.
Of course, all eligibility issues can be appealed. A hardship case is determined by a sections appeals board, then to the state.
In other words, the process is going to linger for some time.
If it's not a discipline reason, why is the athlete being told he has to leave school?

Wow, this is like old time reporting when sports writers go to the rule books to find things out instead of just giving opinions. good work Mr. devine, hope everything works out for the kids.

Final ruling comes down Tuesday in a board meeting. My hunch is Michael will be allowed to return to Alvarez. Michael was the only one that was told he'd have to transfer to North Salinas. His brother was not involved. Either way, the Turner brothers are not going to North Salinas.
