3. Salinas: Three straight trips to the playoffs for the first time in 30 years.
4. Alvarez: Looking to end a 10-year playoff drought.
5. Alisal: Michael Barron is a three-year starting quarterback.
6. North Salinas: With 16 sophomores on the roster, the future is a year off.
7. Gilroy: Looked good in a couple of passing tournaments.
