Facing a league opponent twice?

There are over 200 high schools in the state of California.
And King City and Greenfield couldn't find one team with an opening in Week 2?
This has to be a cost cutting move to get in a 10th game.
Because why would King City and Greenfield want to meet twice in the same season.
The two Mission Trail Athletic League rivals will meet on Sept. 16 in a non-league game, then face each other again in the season finale on Nov. 11.
Both games will count towards playoff points.
In defense of both teams, Greenfield is traveling to play a team in Fresno on Sept. 9 while King City is traveling to Hayward and Oxnard in the first three weeks of the season.
