Monica Abbott

 A few days after making the ESPN highlights for striking out Cubs pitcher Carlos Zambrano, 2008 Olympic silver medalist Monica Abbott threw a perfect game for the Chicago Bandits.
 Abbott, a North Salinas graduate, became the first softball pitcher to toss a perfect game at Rosemont Stadium.
 The 6-foot-3 left-hander is four strikeouts away from breaking the single season team record of 137.
