For one drizzly Saturday morning, the coach came out in Herm Edwards, as did the emotion of returning to Monterey High to coach for one day as part of an ESPN four-part series.
The former Jets and Chiefs head coach provided an emotional lift during Monterey's scrimmage. He made an immediate impact the moment he ran on the field and left an impression on a group of teenagers.
Edwards was amusing in making his points and enthusiast with his teaching.
How could this not be a positive experience? The ESPN segment is slated to air Aug. 31.
