22 teams in 22 days VI
Marina
Moving into the Mission Trail Athletic League last year after playing eight-man football didn't go so well.
Marina canceled two non-league games, was shut out three times and scored just 22 points all season. It gave up 70 or more points in two games.
But the Mariners survived. Most of the players that gutted out the season are back. In fact, the numbers are up as Marina will be able to field a junior varsity program for the first time this fall.
An off-season program has helped build team unity. Still, Marina is young. A lot of players will go both ways. Wins will be scarce. But this group of ironmen is headed in the right direction.
