Five football thoughts

Five things we learned over the summer.

1. King City has a quarterback that can throw the ball.  So will they open up the offense?

2. North Salinas will be young. As many as 20 sophomores could play varsity football this fall.

3. Soledad's numbers are up. So is the optimism. The program hasn't had a winning season since 2001.

4. Marina will field a varsity and junior varsity program. The program is taking baby steps.

5. Seaside may only have 75 players for three programs. But it is still the most athletic team in the county.
