Richie Casas has approached 60 feet in practice in the shot put. So, the North County thrower knows it is in him.
 Casas will need to improve upon his 56-6 1/2 mark to extend his high school season one more day. While he doesn't need to heave the 12-pound iron ball 60 feet, 58 feet will put him in the state finals.
