Sharks

Tuesday's season ending loss was a valid effort -- maybe the best in the postseason.
But was that enough for Sharks fans? Was being a final four team -- again -- a successful season?
For me personally: NO.
I don't want to here this will make us hungrier for next year. I know, what else are you going to say?
But I've heard that speech for five years.
This team can't stand pat. It's not good enough to win a Stanley Cup. The makeup is not right.
The Sharks don't need drastic changes. But they need to make a few moves. They need some speed. The window is closing on the veteran core.

Yes, it's extremely frustrating that once again they couldn't go the distance. But, Vancouver was the better team in almost every phase. Probably the biggest factor that the Canucks have that the Sharks need is defensemen who are scoring threats. One of the Sharks even said it himself: When you play Vancouver you are basically playing against 5 forwards. The Sharks lost this series because they were the inferior team, not because of lack of leadership or toughness or veteran players. The series ended the way sports are set up to work- the better team wins, and the worse team goes home. The Sharks simply haven't been good enough to continue the past few years. Sucks for the fans, but thats the way it goes.
