 You can't help but wonder if all the stars are aliened for Salinas, especially after nationally ranked St. Francis went out in the first round of the CCS Division I playoffs.
 Wins over Oak Grove and Carlmont in the first two rounds of the postseason have the Cowboys one win away from competing for their first ever CCS divisional title.
 Standing in their path is a familiar opponent in TCAL champion San Benito.
 The Balers won two of the three battles in league play with Salinas, posting a 12-7 win on April 15. Since then Salinas has gone 8-2.
 During a current six game winning streak, its pitching staff has allowed 1.2 runs a game. That's a recipe for a title.
