MBL boys track

Stephen Dorsey is a big player in Monterey's bid to dethrone perennial Monterey Bay League power North County.
Dorsey will go into today's MBL trials at Watsonville as the clear cut favorite in the long jump, triple jump and high jump, and is among the leaders in the 110 high hurdles.
But if Monterey is going to make a run at the unbeaten Condors, its depth has to come to the forefront. And it may need help from the rest of the league.
The Condors are going to score heavily in the sprints with Rick Standish, the throws with school record holder Richie Casas and the pole vault with CCS leader and school record holder Keith Rayburn.
A one-point loss to North County in a dual meet came down to the 1,600 relay. Monterey will have its team intact for the final event. But it will need at least a 20-yard lead to hold off Standish.
