One game should never dictate a season. Unfortunately the last game is often the one we remember the most.
And for all but a handful of schools, that means a loss.
Carmel won 26 games this spring, ran off 16 straight wins, breezed through the Mission Trail Athletic League.
But one forgettable inning will weigh on the minds of 20 plus players turning in uniforms today, after failing to hold an 8-2 lead in the sixth inning of a 9-8 setback to Menlo.
It happens. That's the beauty of sports. It's unpredictable.
