Notre Dame
It's a new era at Notre Dame as for the first time in 30 years, Joe Given is not the coach, having retired after 700 plus wins.
And while graduation stripped the reigning TCAL champion Spirits of six starters, shame on you if you assumed a program with 30 straight winning seasons might slip.
The cupboard is far from bare with the return of all leaguer Giovanna Kolofer and sophomore Morgan Balestreri, who was second on the team in hits last spring.
Pitching is still a concern. After six games, the Spirits (5-1) have allowed 24 runs. Last year they gave up just 52 runs in 28 games.
But you're going to win a lot of games averaging eight runs a contest. And the three freshmen brought up can hit.
