Weekend picks

No rhyme or reason, but at 101-16, we're bringing home two champions this week.

CCS Division IV
At Westmont High, Campbell
Sacred Heart Prep (10-2) vs. Carmel (11-1), 3 p.m.: The Padres reacted under pressure last week with 28 unanswered points in 16 minutes to erase a 21-point deficit.
That can't happen this week against a powerful Gators squad that can control the clock on the ground.
Carmel's defense has produced three touchdowns in two postseason games. As opportunist as it has been, Carmel can't spot a team 35 points if it wants to defend its title Pick: Carmel.

CCS Division III
Terra Nova (8-4) vs. Monterey (11-1), 7 p.m.: This is Terra Nova's second straight trip to the Division III finals, falling to Seaside last year.
Where Terra Nova will feel the loss of its starting quarterback is on the ground, as he was the teams leading rusher as well.
Monterey can still expect an aerial assault from Terra Nova. One way to neutralize that is to rely on your own offense to control the tempo, which the Dores have done during their current nine-game winning streak. Pick: Monterey.
