Carmel football

Squandering a 21-point second half lead would seem like a collapse.
How did this happen to a program that can score 21 points on three plays?
Well, some of the credit goes to Sacred Heart Prep. It shut down Carmel's potent passing attack the entire game. The Padres never got into a rhythm.
Take away an 83-yard touchdown run by quarterback Devin Pearson, and a 62-yard scramble that set up a touchdown by Pearson and Carmel's offense was AWOL.
Carmel benefited from a short field on its first three possessions to produce three scores. But it failed on three occasions to convert on fourth down in the second half.
Sacred Heart's game plan was masterful. Carmel didn't respond. It happens. It got beat. Plan and simple.
