The Mariners survived their first season, producing a county record low 28 points. Half those points did come in the final two games, providing hope for the future.
Marina had no business fielding a varsity program in its first season in the MTAL. But the players dealt with the hand given with character and class.
Don't expect a title next year. But don't look for a winless season either. Effort alone earns a passing grade:
