Weekend picks

No rhyme or reason, but perfection strikes again, keeping my bid for a 100 win season alive at 76-13.

Palma at Seaside: I'm not sure either coach wanted this game in Week 9, particularly with title implications on the line in the final week. But both wanted to keep the non-league rivalry alive. Pick: Palma.
Monterey at Monte Vista: Four teams in the MBL could go into the final week tied for first, or unbeaten Monterey can clinch a tie for the MBL title. Pick: Monterey.
Alisal at Salinas: A win keeps Alisal's playoff hopes alive, while Salinas still has TCAL title hopes flickering in its head. Pick: Salinas.
Alvarez at North Salinas: The Eagles are winless on the road, but undefeated against teams with losing records. Something has to give. Pick: Alvarez.
Stevenson at Pacific Grove: Pride isn't all both teams are playing for. A win ensures a .500 or better record. Pick: Stevenson.
Greenfield at Gonzales: Not only does a win clinch a playoff spot for Greenfield, but it ties its single season school record for wins. Pick: Greenfield.
Soledad vs. Marina at MPC: The Aztecs have lost their last two games by a combined four points. Pick: Soledad.
Saturday's games
King City at Carmel: These teams share identical 5-0 MTAL records. But that is where the similarities stop. Pick: Carmel.
Pajaro Valley at North County: The Condors are the highest scoring team in the MBL while the Grizzlies are the lowest scoring team: Pick: North County.
