You could easily attribute youth to Santa Catalina's inability to close out Crystal Springs in the Central Coast Section Division V finals Saturday.
There wasn't one senior on the bench for the biggest match in the programs history. But youth has carried the Cougars all season.
Youthful mistakes caught up with the Cougars, such as being out of rotation in Game 3, turning a 2-0 lead into a 1-1 tie and a loss of serve in a 25-21 loss.
That didn't cost them the game or the match. But you can't help but wonder if it's 2-0 and Santa Catalina is serving, is it a different outcome?
