Five members of the Cougars volleyball team are border students, slated to get on a bus today at 3 p.m. to their respective destinations.
One has a plane flight to New York that has been booked for six months.
Here's betting that the fab five cancel plans and suit up on Saturday in the Central Coast Section Division V title match against Crystal Springs in San Jose.
Section titles are rare. In fact, the Cougars have never even been in a CCS title match. And a win would provide a home match in the State Northern California tournament.
This is unchartered waters for Santa Catalina. No one is going anywhere.
