Remember when Salinas started the year with two lopsided losses at home, allowing 76 points? Apparently lessons were learned as the Cowboys are riding into the playoffs with momentum and confidence.
I do not see how King City stops Greenfield's running game, which has already chalked up over 3,000 yards this year. The Mustangs defense has 25 interceptions. But Greenfield may not even put the ball in the air.
Monterey is vulnerable against the pass. But Seaside's dynamic passing attack can't hurt them if it can't get on the field. Time consuming drives by the Toreadores have buried opponents. Look for John-Wyatt Williams to run wild. But in a two-minute situation with the game on the line, I like Seaside.
Monte Vista is one or two plays away from being undefeated. It blew a 15-point lead last week to Monterey and turned the ball over four times in a narrow loss to Seaside. Monte Vista probably wishes this was a road game, where it is 6-0 this year.
