League titles may have been secured by Carmel and Monterey last week, and Palma two weeks ago.
But having a championship to themselves means closing the season this week with a win.
There are five teams that still have hope of gathering a share of a league banner.
Two teams still control their fate in Seaside and San Benito.
If the host Spartans knock off Monterey on Friday, it could create a three-way tie for the MBL title with North County.
The same holds true for the Balers. A win over Palma would give them a share of the TCAL title along with Salinas, assuming the Cowboys beat North Salinas.
Palma has never posted an unbeaten regular season in Jeff Carnazzo's 10 years as head coach.
Greenfield is a long shot to grab a slice of its first MTAL crown since Carmel -- who hosts Pacific Grove on Saturday -- has not dropped a league game in three years.

The only way there can be a three way tie for first in the MBL is if Seaside beats Monterey AND North County beats MVC.
Don't sell the Mustangs short. They are fighting for their play-off life while NMC already has locked up a play-off spot.
This season NMC has not seen a passing attack like MVC's. Plus MVC is more balanced than most people realize with 1,778 yards passing and 1,676 yards rushing.
MVC lost a close game to Seaside 27 to 21. NMC won a very close one against the Spartans 47 to 45.
Both teams lost to Monterey, NMC lost by 12...MVC lost by 11.
And the game is at night at MVC...while NMC has played their last two games on a Saturday afternoon.
NMC knows a share of the league title is at stake. But MVC is playing for a lot more. They say defense wins championships. It is going to be the defense that decides whether there is a shared league championship or whether the MBL puts four teams into the CCS play-offs.
