Weekend picks

No rhyme or reason, but perfection has struck again with a 10-0 mark, improving my overall record to 67-13.

Gilroy at Palma: The playoff bound Chieftains are one league win away from their 25th league title in 27 years. Pick: Palma.
North Salinas at Alisal: Playoff hopes are still flickering at Alisal, who had a bye week to gear up for its final three games. Pick: Alisal.
San Benito at Alvarez: Home has been a comfort zone for the Eagles, who are 3-1 on their turf. Pick: San Benito.
Seaside at Christopher: This is nothing more than a tune-up game for Seaside, who closes the season hosting Palma and Monterey. Pick: Seaside.
Gonzales at King City: With six straight wins over their lone-time rival, the Mustangs will look to make it six straight wins this year. Pick: King City.
Pacific Grove at Soledad: Turnovers have cost the Breakers two second half leads in the last two weeks. Pick: Pacific Grove.
Carmel vs. Marina at MPC: Carmel asked for a running clock twice. Marina refused. Pick: Carmel.
Saturday's games
Greenfield at Stevenson: Rain could keep the Pirates grounded. Greenfield does nothing but run the ball. Pick: Greenfield.
Watsonville at Monterey: October is moving month in high school football and Monterey is one win away from being undefeated this month. Pick: Monterey.
