If the season ended today, the only playoffs locks (top two finishes) would be Palma and Salinas in the TCAL, Monte Vista and Monterey in the MBL and Carmel and King City in the MTAL.
No doubt, this will have a different look in four weeks. But perhaps not as much as you might think.
And if you're not in the top two, it all boils down to points for playoff spots.
I still believe four teams from the TCAL can qualify for the playoffs. Despite its 1-5 overall start, North Salinas could be a playoff team if it wins its final four games.
San Benito will have an edge over Alvarez if the two teams finish in a tie because of a stronger non-league schedule.
North County is 6-1 overall. It has one more difficult game remaining on its league schedule. I can't see how it doesn't make the playoffs.
Seaside's non-league schedule will produce a lot of points. And with games against Monte Vista and Monterey, it still controls its MBL fate.
I don't see more than two teams coming out of the MTAL, although Greenfield could finish 8-2 and third in the MTAL. King City is undefeated, but has yet to play Carmel or Greenfield.
